(16HW36.4) Service Pack 3.1 Installation Procedure

Prerequisites

Overview

This procedure describes 16HW36.x Service Pack 3.1 installation procedure for GOC6.6 (Z840).

The Service Pack 3.1 software CDROM contains Service Pack 1.0, Service Pack 2.0, Service Pack 2.1, Service Pack 3.0 and Service Pack 3.1 patches.

The 16HW36.x Service Pack 3.1 is NOT applicable for GOC5, 6, 6.5 and GOC6.6(Z820).

1 Preparation for Installation

Procedure

  1. Check the current software version by the following command.

    {ctuser@hostname} swhwinfo Enter

    Example: 16HW36.4_SP3-0-2.V40_H_HS64_G_GTL

    If the output contains SP3-1-1, SP3.1 is already installed. No need to install it.

    If the output contains SP3-0-x, SP3.0 is installed. Go to Service Pack 3.1 Installation (on SP3-0-x software).

    If the output contains SP2-1-x, SP2.1 is installed. Go to Service Pack 3.1 Installation (on SP2-1-x software).

    If the output contains SP2-0-x, SP2.0 is installed. Go to Service Pack 3.1 Installation (on SP2-0-x software).

    If the output contains SP1-0-x, SP1.0 is installed. Go to Service Pack 3.1 Installation (on SP1-0-x software).

    If the output is just 16HW36.4, no SP is installed. Go to Service Pack 3.1 Installation (on no SP software).

    If the output is not equal to 16HW36.4, system software version is different, do not execute the procedure.

    note:

    In case of FMI, Service Pack software is delivered by e-Delivery and installation can be done via USB drive. Refer to Service Pack 3.1 Installation from USB Drive in this procedure.

  2. Type "swhwinfo" in command window and record the tube type.

    Example of strings: 16HW36.4_SP3-0-2.V40_NV_V64_G_GTM in case of VCT Liquid Bearing.

    • Ball Bearing : H

    • Liquid Bearing: NV

  3. Check Exam Split Type.

    Type swokinstall -p

    If Exam Split option is displayed, execute the following

    Type ls –l ~ctuser/ves/.hesMode Enter

    If there is .hesMode file, it’s HES mode.

    If not, It’s VES mode.

    This will be used at reinstall option.

2 Service Pack 3.1 Installation (on SP3-0-x software)

Procedure

  1. If Application software is up, perform the Application Shutdown from CSD.
  2. Open a Unix shell.
  3. In the Unix Shell, become root:
    1. {ctuser@hostname} su -
    2. Password: <password>
  4. Insert the Service Pack CD into DVD drive in the host.
  5. Perform the following steps to install the Service Pack CD:
    1. [root@hostname]# patch_install -c
    2. The following message is displayed.


      The following files found in cdrom match current system:
      ==============================================================

      16HW36.X_GEHCServicePack2.0-1-1.i386.rpm

  7. Check Software version:

    2. System should reply with a response as the following:

      16HW36.4_SP3-1-1.<hw info (ex. V40_H_H64_G_GTL) >

  8. Remove the Service Pack CD from Host DVD drive.
  9. Reboot the system:

    [root@hostname]# reboot

  10. Type "swhwinfo" in command window and confirm that the tube type is same as bearing type in reconfig.

    Example of strings: 16HW36.4_SP3-1-1.V40_NV_V64_G_GTM in case of VCT Liquid Bearing.

    • Ball Bearing : H
    • Liquid Bearing: NV
  11. Perform Fast Calibration.
  12. Perform sanity scan with the following technique and confirm they completed successfully.

    Scout, Axial and Helical.

3 Service Pack 3.1 Installation (on SP2-1-x software)

Procedure

  1. If the following software options are installed, uninstall them from Install Options in CSD.
    • Volume Viewer
    • AutoBone_Xpress
    • AVA_Xpress
    • CardEP
    • CardIQ_Xpress_Reveal
    • CT_Colono_Pro3D_EC
    • CT_Perfusion_4D_MultiOrgan
    • CT_Perfusion_4D_Neuro
  2. If Application software is up, perform the Application Shutdown from CSD.
  3. Open a Unix shell.
  4. In the Unix Shell, become root:
    1. {ctuser@hostname} su -
    2. Password: <password>
  5. Insert the Service Pack CD into DVD drive in the host.
  6. Perform the following steps to install the Service Pack CD:
    1. [root@hostname]# patch_install -c
    2. The following messages is displayed.


      The following files found in cdrom match current system:

      16HW36.4_SP3-1-1.<hw info (ex. V40_H_H64_G_GTL) >

  10. Go to reconfig. menu and set Bearing type to match the currently installed X-ray Tube. Refer to System Configuration (12HW14.6 SP2.1 or later).
  11. Remove the Service Pack CD from Host DVD drive.
  12. Reinstall software option keys which were removed at earlier step.
  13. Reboot the system:

    [root@hostname]# reboot

  14. Execute "Flash Download" in Utilities tab of CSD menu.
  15. Type "swhwinfo" in command window and confirm that the tube type is same as bearing type in reconfig.

    Example of strings: 16HW36.4_SP3-1-1.V40_NV_V64_G_GTM in case of VCT Liquid Bearing.

    • Ball Bearing : H

    • Liquid Bearing: NV

  16. Perform Fast Calibration.
  17. Perform sanity scan with the following technique and confirm they completed successfully.

    Scout, Axial and Helical.

4 Service Pack 3.1 Installation (on SP2-0-x software)

  1. Execute "Save Runtime Parameters" from Generator tool - JEDI in Diagnostic tab of CSD menu.
  2. Execute "Save System State" in Utilities tab of CSD menu.
  3. If the following software options are installed, uninstall them from Install Options in CSD.
    • Volume Viewer
    • AutoBone_Xpress
    • AVA_Xpress
    • CardEP
    • CardIQ_Xpress_Reveal
    • CT_Colono_Pro3D_EC
    • CT_Perfusion_4D_MultiOrgan
    • CT_Perfusion_4D_Neuro
  4. If Application software is up, perform the Application Software from CSD.
  5. Open a Unix shell.
  6. In the Unix Shell, become root:
    1. {ctuser@hostname} su -
    2. Password: <password>
  7. Insert the Service Pack CD into DVD drive in the host.
  8. Perform the following steps to install the Service Pack CD:

  13. Go to reconfig. menu and set Bearing type to match the currently installed X-ray Tube. Refer to System Configuration (12HW14.6 SP2.1 or later).

  20. Execute "Generator Filament Calibration" in Calibration tab of CSD menu.
  21. Perform Fast Calibration
  22. Perform sanity scan with the following technique and confirm they completed successfully.

    Scout, Axial and Helical.

5 Service Pack 3.1 Installation (on SP1-0-x software)

  23. Perform sanity scan with the following technique and confirm they completed successfully.

    Scout, Axial and Helical.

6 Service Pack 3.1 Installation (on no SP software)

  15. Go to reconfig. menu and set Bearing type to match the currently installed X-ray Tube. Refer to System Configuration (12HW14.6 SP2.1 or later).
  16. Remove the Service Pack CD from Host DVD drive.
  17. Reinstall software option keys which were removed at earlier step.
  18. Reboot the system:

    [root@hostname]# reboot

  19. Execute "Flash Download" in Utilities tab of CSD menu.

7 Service Pack 3.1 Installation from USB Drive

Procedure

    note:

    The following procedure explains the Service Pack 3.1 installation on Service Pack 3.0 software. If system is missing any of the previous Service Pack they can be installed at the same time as SP3.1. (For the details of pre-install and post-install tasks, refer to each Service Pack installation procedure.)

  1. Download Service Pack iso file from e-Delivery End-User Portal. Refer to the FMI26863 instruction manual on how to download the service pack iso file to your laptop PC.
  2. After the downloads are complete, the files will be located locally on the computer, most likely in the “downloads” directory.
  3. Confirm the downloaded iso file by checking MD5 checksum:
    1. Open a Command Prompt window on laptop PC.
    2. Change directory to where iso file is located.
    3. Type: certutil -hashfile 16HW36.X_GEHCServicePack3.1-1-1.iso MD5
    4. The checksum value should be “d74787133fcff93740534adde9200d5c”.
  4. Connect the USB flash drive to your computer and copy the downloaded software iso file to the USB flash drive.
  5. Perform Application Shutdown from Common Service Desktop Utilities menu.
  6. Open a Unix shell.
  7. In the Unix Shell, become root:
    1. {ctuser@hostname} su - ENTER
    2. Password: <password>
  8. Insert the USB Flash Drive to the host USB port.
  9. Type: [root@hostname]# mountUSB ENTER
  10. Type: [root@hostname]# cd /USB ENTER

  11. Type: [root@hostname]# mount -t iso9660 -o loop 16HW36.X_GEHCServicePack3.1-1-1.iso /mnt/cdrom ENTER
    note:

    There is a space before “/mnt/cdrom”.

  12. Perform the following steps to install the Service Pack CD:
    1. [root@hostname]# patch_install -c
    2. The following message is displayed.

      The following files found in cdrom match current system:
      ==============================================================
      16HW36.X_GEHCServicePack1.0-1-1.i386.rpm
      16HW36.X_GEHCServicePack2.0-1-1.i386.rpm
      16HW36.X_GEHCServicePack2.1-1-1.i386.rpm

  14. Confirm the following message:

    Update 16HW36.X_GEHCServicePack3.1 has been installed successfully.

  15. Check Software Version:
    1. Type: [root@hostname]# swhwinfo ENTER
    2. System should reply with a response similar to the following:

      16HW36.4_SP3-1-1.<hw info (ex. V40_H_H64_G_GTL) >

  16. Remove USB flash drive from the host computer:
    1. Type: [root@hostname]# umount /mnt/cdrom ENTER
    2. Type: [root@hostname]# cd ENTER
    3. Type: [root@hostname]# unmountUSB ENTER
    4. Remove the USB drive.
  17. Reboot the system:

    Type: [root@hostname]# reboot ENTER

  18. Execute “Flash Download” in Utilities tab of CSD menu.
  19. Perform Fast Calibration.
  20. Perform sanity scan with the following technique and confirm they completed successfully.

    Scout, Axial and Helical.

  21. Execute “Save system state” in Utilities tab of CSD menu.

8 Appendix - Service Pack 3.1 Uninstallation

  2. Open a Unix shell.
  3. In a Unix Shell, type su - Enter to be root user.
  4. Type: patch_install -u Enter .
    note:

    It may take 3~4 min, please wait.

  5. The following message is displayed.

    The following patches are installed on system:

    16HW36.X_GEHCServicePack3.0
    16HW36.X_GEHCServicePack2.1
    16HW36.X_GEHCServicePack2.0

    I will uninstall update 16HW36.X_GEHCServicePack3.1, is this ok ? [y/n]

  6. Input y to uninstall Service Pack 3.1.
  7. Verify that the following message is displayed,

    Update 16HW36.X_GEHCServicePack3.1 has been uninstalled successfully.

  8. Open a Unix shell, and type swhwinfo Enter. Confirm that the output does not contain "SP" and will look like this:

    16HW36.4_SP3-0-2.<hw info (ex. V40_H_H64_G_GTL) >

  9. Type: reboot ENTER to reboot the system.
  10. Perform sanity scan with the following technique and confirm they completed successfully.

    Scout, Axial and Helical.
