(13HW31.8) Service Pack 2.0 Installation Procedure

Prerequisites

Overview

This procedure describes 13HW31.8 Service Pack 2.0 installation procedure.

The Service Pack 2.0 software CDROM contains Service Pack 1.0 and Service Pack 2.0 patches.

1 Preparation for Installation

Procedure

  1. Check the current software version by the following command.

    {ctuser@hostname} swhwinfo

    Example: 13HW31.8_V40_H_HS64_G_GTL

    If the output contains SP2-0-X, SP2.0 is already installed. No need to install it.

    If the output contains SP1-0-X, SP1.0 is installed. Install SP2.0 only.

    If the output is just 13HW31.8 (no Service Pack), install SP1.0 at first using Service Pack 2.0 CD-ROM, then install SP2.0.

    If the output is not equal to 13HW31.8, system software version is different, do not execute the procedure.

  2. Check Exam Split Type.

    Type swokinstall -p

    If Exam Split option is displayed, execute the following

    Type ls –l ~ctuser/ves/.hesMode

    If there is .hesMode file, it’s HES mode.

    If not, It’s VES mode.

    This will be used at reinstall option.

2 Sevice Pack Installation

Procedure

  1. Execute Save Runtime parameter from Diagnostics > Generator Tool - JEDI of CSD
  2. Perform Save system state.
  3. Uninstall the following options (if installed) using the Install Options menu in the Configuration Tab in Common Service Desktop.
    • AutoBone_Xpress

    • AVA_Xpress

    • CardEP

    • CardIQ_Xpress_Reveal

    • CT_Colono_Pro3D_EC

    • CT_Perfusion_4D_MultiOrgan

    • CT_Perfusion_4D_Neuro

    • VolumeViewer

    • Exam Split

  4. Open a Unix shell.
  5. If Application software is up, perform the following command in the Unix Shell.

    {ctuser@hostname} cleanMon

  6. In the Unix Shell, become root:
    1. {ctuser@hostname} su -
    2. Password: <password>
  7. Insert the Service Pack CD into DVD drive in the host.
  8. Perform the following steps to install the Service Pack CD:
    1. [root@hostname]# patch_install -c
    2. The following message is displayed.


      The following files found in cdrom match current system:
      =======================================================
      13HW31.8_GEHCServicePack1.0-1-1.i386.rpm
      13HW31.8_GEHCServicePack2.0-1-1.i386.rpm
      =======================================================
      copy patches to system...

      These patches from cdrom will be installed:
      13HW31.8_GEHCServicePack1.0
      13HW31.8_GEHCServicePack2.0
      =======================================================
      I will install update 13HW31.8_GEHCServicePack1.0 from CDROM, is this ok ? [y/n]

                        

    3. Input y to install Service Pack 1.0.
    4. Confirm the “Update 13HW31.8_GEHCServicePack1.0 has been installed successfully” message.
    5. The following message is displayed.


      I will install update 13HW31.8_GEHCServicePack2.0 from CDROM, is this ok ? [y/n]
                        

    6. Input y to install Service Pack 2.0.
    7. Confirm the “Update 13HW31.8_GEHCServicePack2.0 has been installed successfully” message.

      The following message appears before completion of SP2.0 installation, and ignore to do it this timing.


      #################################################################
      # Installation successful.                                      #
      #                                                               #
      # - Execute reconfig in order to set Bearing type (Ball/Liquid) #
      #   after SP2.0 installation completion.                        #
      # - If NTP server is used, confirm and accept the network       #
      #   setting by Reconfig.                                        #
      # - Reinstall the software options and Voxtool protocols by     #
      #   Restore State.                                              #
      #################################################################

                        

  9. Check Software Version:
    1. Type: [root@hostname]# swhwinfo ENTER
    2. System should reply with a response similar to the following:

      13HW31.8_SP2-0-X.<hw info (ex. V40_H_H64_G_GTL) >

  10. Go to reconfig. menu and set Bearing type of X-ray Tube. And press “Accept” button. Refer to System Configuration (12HW14.6 SP2.1 or later). Then press “Yes” button to reboot the system.
  11. Remove the Service Pack CD from Host DVD drive.
  12. Execute Flash Download after rebooting the system.
  13. Perform Restore State, then restart the system.
  14. Confirm the following options has been reinstalled.
    • AutoBone_Xpress

    • AVA_Xpress

    • CardEP

    • CardIQ_Xpress_Reveal

    • CT_Colono_Pro3D_EC

    • CT_Perfusion_4D_MultiOrgan

    • CT_Perfusion_4D_Neuro

    • VolumeViewer

    • Exam Split

  15. Execute Restore Runtime parameter from Diagnostics > Generator Tool - JEDI of CSD.
  16. Execute Generator Filament Calibration from Generator Tool - JEDI.
  17. Perform Save system state.
  18. Perform sanity scan with the following technique and confirm they completed successfully.

    Scout, Axial and Helical.

3 Appendix - Service Pack Uninstallation

note:

If SP2.0 is uninstalled, Liquid Bearing Tube is not available to use.

Procedure

  1. Execute Save Runtime parameter from Diagnostics > Generator Tool - JEDI of CSD.
  2. Perform Save system state.
  3. Open a Unix shell and check Exam Split type.

    Type swokinstall –p ENTER

    If the Exam Split option is installed, execute the following.

    Type ls –l ~ctuser/ves/.hesMode ENTER

    If there is .hesMode file, it’s HES mode.

    If not, it’s VES mode.

    This will be used at reinstall option.

  4. Uninstall the following options (if installed) using the Install Options menu in the Configuration Tab in Common Service Desktop.
    • AutoBone_Xpress

    • AVA_Xpress

    • CardEP

    • CardIQ_Xpress_Reveal

    • CT_Colono_Pro3D_EC

    • CT_Perfusion_4D_MultiOrgan

    • Exam Split

  5. Open a Unix shell.
  6. If Application software is up, perform the following command.

    {ctuser@hostname} cleanMon

  7. In the Unix Shell, become root:
    1. {ctuser@hostname} su -
    2. Password: <password>
  8. Type patch_install -u ENTER . Follow the instructions displayed on the screen.
    note:

    It may take 3~4 min., please wait.

  9. Verify patch uninstalled with “Successful” message is displayed. The following message appears before completion of SP2.0 uninstallation, and ignore to do it this timing.

    #                                                               #
    # - If NTP server is used, confirm and accept the network       #
    #   setting by Reconfig.                                        #
    # - Reinstall the software options and Voxtool protocols by     #
    #   Restore State.                                              #

  10. Open a Unix shell, and type swhwinfo ENTER. Confirm that the output does not contain “SP1.0” and will look similar to this: 13HW31.8.V40_H_HS64_G_GTL.
  11. Go to reconfig. menu and press “Accept” button. Refer to System Configuration (12HW14.6 SP2.1 or later). Then press “Yes” button to reboot the system.
  12. Perform a Restore System State, then restart the system.
  13. Confirm the following options has been reinstalled.
    • AutoBone_Xpress

    • AVA_Xpress

    • CardEP

    • CardIQ_Xpress_Reveal

    • CT_Colono_Pro3D_EC

    • CT_Perfusion_4D_MultiOrgan

    • CT_Perfusion_4D_Neuro

    • VolumeViewer

    • Exam Split

  14. Execute Flash Download.
  15. Execute Restore Runtime parameter from Diagnostics > Generator Tool - JEDI of CSD.
  16. Execute Generator Filament Calibration from Generator Tool - JEDI.
  17. Perform Save system state.
  18. Perform sanity scan with the following technique and confirm they completed successfully.

    Scout, Axial and Helical.
