STEP E5: Alignment Light & Table Height Characterization

  1. Turn on the Axial Drive Enable and HVDC Enable service switches and the gantry alignment lights.

  2. Using a sheet of white paper placed over the output ports, verify that the two laser lines coincide and appear as a single line.

  3. Raise the table to its highest elevation and verify the cradle is level.

  4. Extend the cradle until you see both internal and external laser lights on the cradle.

  5. Verify the distance from the internal axial laser line to the external axial line is 240 mm ± 1 mm on both sides of the cradle.

  6. Leaving the cradle in an extended position, lower the table to it minimum elevation. Repeat the same measurements to verify the distance is 240 mm ± 1 mm.

  7. Turn off the alignment lights.

  8. From the service desktop mechanical characterization tool, select CHARACTERIZE ALIGNMENT LIGHTS. Follow the on-screen instructions.

  9. From the service desktop mechanical characterization tool, select CHARACTERIZE TABLE HEIGHT. Follow the on-screen instructions.

  10. If the table height relative to ISO is less than 22 mm or greater than 25 mm, adjust the table height using the table leveling pad and adjusters. Loosen the anchors and raise or lower all adjusters equally to achieve desired results. Verify that the table is level head-to-foot and side-to-side.

  11. Use a calibrated torque wrench to tighten the anchors to 75 ± 6 N-m (55 ± 5 ft-lb).
