General Information (Device Mount, Unmount, Other)
1 Remote Shell - Check Internal Network
To become root open a Unix Shell:

Type: su -Enter.

Enter the root password:<password>Enter.
To check the internal network as root, type: rsh darcEnter.

Type: exit to close root@darc shell or to check IG1 type: rsh ig1Enter.

Type: exit to close root@IG1 shell and exit to close root@darc shell.

Close the Unix Shell.
2 HOST Computer CDROM - Mount and Umount Process

Insert the CD into the Host Computer DVD-ROM drive.

Open up a Unix Shell.

ctuser: su - Enter.
-
password: <password> Enter.
-
root: mount /mnt/cdrom Enter.
Now the CD has been mounted so you can see what is on it by typing:
ls /mnt/cdrom Enter.
You must umount the CD in order to remove it from the drive, do this by typing:
umount /mnt/cdrom Enter.
3 Peripheral SCSI Tower DVD-Mount and Unmount Process
Insert the DVD into the Peripheral Tower DVD RAM drive.

Open up a Unix Shell and type the following:

mountDVD
-
Now the DVD has been mounted so you can see what is on it by typing:

ls /DVD
-
You must unmount the DVD to remove it from the drive. Do this by typing:
unmountDVD
4 Peripheral SCSI Tower DVD - Initializing a DVD
If a DVD needs to be initialized open a Unix Shell and perform the following:

Type: su -
-
Enter the root password: <password>
-
Type: mountDVD
-
Type: mkfsDVDEnter, then answer y for yes, close the Unix shell.
5 Peripheral SCSI Tower MOD - Mount and Unmount Process

Insert the MOD into the Peripheral Tower MOD drive.

Open up a Unix Shell and type the following:

mountMOD
-
Now the MOD has been mounted so you can see what is on it by typing:
ls /MOD
-
You must unmount the MOD to remove it from the drive. To do this, type:
unmountMOD
