TGPU Replacement

Prerequisites

Overview

1 Removing The TGPu

Procedure

    • caution
    • Potential for shock.
    • Voltage may be present.
    • No service on the left side while energized. Follow appropriate LOTO procedures.
  1. Remove all gantry covers except for the front cover.
  2. Notice Image

    • Always turn OFF the HVDC before the 120VAC. Turning OFF 120VAC power before HVDC power can result in equipment damage.
  3. Turn off all three (3) switches (Axial Drive, HVDC, and 120VAC) on the Service Switch Panel.
  4. Remove the 12 screws in the TGPU covers.
    note:

    Front and rear access is required for this procedure.

  5. Remove the cover.
  6. Disconnect all cabling into the TGPU.
    note:

    If the cables are not labeled, label them as they are removed.

  7. Remove the eight (8) screws attaching the TGPU board.
  8. Remove the defective TGPU.

2 Install TGPu

Procedure

  1. Put the new TGPu board in place.
  2. Secure the board by replacing the eight (8) screws.
  3. Carefully install all of the removed cables, making sure that no pins are bent during engagement.
  4. Replace the cover.
  5. Replace the twelve (12) screws in the TGPU cover.
    note:

    Front and side access may be required.

  6. Execute Flash download query and update. TGPu firmware older than OC may fail. In this case, execute the following:

    Before powering ON the 120VAC gantry power, open a shell and type the following to perform the Flash download procedure so that TGPu firmware is downloaded from the OC.

    cd /usr/g/fw Enter

    touch tgpFtp Enter

  7. Turn ON all three (3) switches (Axial Drive, HVDC, and 120VAC) on the Service Switch Panel.

3 Finalization

Procedure

  1. Reinstall covers.
    note:

    Remove LOTO.

  2. Perform System Scanning Test.
