Slipring Receiver (850 Mbaud) Replacement

Prerequisites

This procedure describes the Slipring Receiver replacement.

Procedure

  1. Move table to its lowest elevation.
  2. Remove rear gantry cover Gantry Rear Cover Removal and Re-install.
  3. Notice Image

    • Always turn OFF the HVDC before the 120 VAC. Turning OFF 120 VAC power before HVDC power can result in equipment damage.
  4. Turn OFF all 3 service switches (Axial Drive, HVDC, 120VAC) on the Service Switch Panel. Follow Lockout/Tagout procedures.
  5. Remove J1 and J2 cables.
  6. Remove hex screws holding the receiver to the antenna.

  7. Replace receiver.
  8. Verify antenna gap and alignment adjustments.

Finalization

  1. Hardware Reset
  2. Acquire 10 scouts: (120kV/40mA, 1000mm table movement)
  3. Acquire 100 axials: (120kV/80mA, 0.5 sec. Scan)
  4. Acquire 1 helical: (120kV/40mA, 30 sec. Scan),
  5. Acquire 10 axial scans: (120kV/400mA, 4 sec. Scan)
  6. Verify NO increase in corrected or uncorrected FEC errors.
  7. Reset DIP Stats: Perform the following procedure to reset cumulative DIP Stats (shown on the Common Service Desktop Home Page):
    1. Open a Unix shell.
    2. Type: cd /usr/g/service/log
    3. Type: mv dip.stats dip.stats.old
    4. Shutdown and restart the system. This will reinitialize the dip.stats file.
    5. Save System State.
