SCSI Tower Replacement

Prerequisites

Overview

Procedure

  1. Halt the system and power OFF console.
    note:

The Console must be shut down during this replacement. If the Console is not powered off, the Console BIOS will not recognize the new SCSI Tower.

  2. Remove the SCSI cable, terminator and power cables.

(Refer to schematic in the rear cover for cabling details. Click on the PDF icon, 183115.pdf, for a scalable PDF version of the schematic.)

  3. Reinstall the replacement SCSI tower, cables and terminator.
    note:

The switch setting on the rear of the SCSI tower are not used.

  4. Turn ON the power to the Console and SCSI tower.

Check that the green power LED on the SCSI terminator is “ON”. If not, check that the front SCSI tower switch is “ON.” Check that the terminator is seated and the power cable is connected.

  5. As the console boots, you will see the SCSI tower devices info appear in the SCSI inventory as the console boots.
