PDAS Air Plenum Cooling Fans Replacement

Prerequisites

1 Cooling Fan Removal

Procedure

  1. Move the table cradle to the home position, and position the table to its lowest elevation.
  2. Remove gantry right side cover.

    • Always turn OFF the HVDC before the 120VAC. Turning OFF 120VAC power before HVDC power can result in equipment damage.
  3. Turn OFF Axial Enable, HVDC, and 120VAC switches on the service switch panel.
  4. Remove the rest of the gantry covers.
  5. Position the DAS at 12 o’clock position.
  6. Lock the gantry in position using the rotational lock.
  7. Disconnect the fan power cable from the PDAS Duck Fan Cover.
  8. Remove the PDAS Duck Fan Cover by unscrewing its M6x12 allen screws by a on the PDAS Duck Fan Cover.

  9. Disconnect the cooling fan power cable connector from the DAS Duck Fan ASM.

  10. Remove the cooling fan by unscrewing its four screws.

2 Cooling Fan Installation

Procedure

  1. Get new cooling fan and secure by four M4 screws. (Torque each screw: 2.3Nm)
  2. Reconnect PS cable from DAS cover to fans.
  3. Reinstall the fan cover by first engaging all M6 screws (torque is 7.9Nm).
  4. Connect the fan power cable from the PDAS Duck Fan Cover.
  5. Disengage the rotational lock.
  6. Turn on Axial Enable, HVDC, and 120VAC switches.
