Linear Scale Tape Replacement

Prerequisites

Overview

This procedure is for the Global PET/CT Table, with fixed position IMS and GT1700V Table.

Procedure

  1. Raise the Table to maximum height.
  2. Move the Cradle to OUT limit position.
  3. Remove power from Table by turning off 120VAC, Axial Drive and HVDC switches on Service Switch Panel.
  4. Remove the following Table component and covers:

    • Cradle

    • Top Cover (Right/Left)

    • Rear Top Cover

    • Rail Cover (Left)

  5. Remove fixing bracket from the Table frame (see Figure 2).

  6. Peel off the linear scale tape from the groove on the inside of the Table frame, and take off the adhesive tape in that place.
  7. Clean and dirt off the attaching surface of the groove using an alcohol.

    • Do not bring magnetic objects (e.g., tools, pens, tape measures, steel-toe shoes, vacuum pumps etc.) near the linear scale tape. The linear scale tape can be damaged.
  8. Perform this step depending on the following Table type:

    (For Global PET/CT Table, with fixed position IMS) Skip this step.

    (For GT1700V Table) Cut new linear scale tape into 1895 ± 5 mm length.

  9. Peel off a paper from the new linear scale tape, and attach it along the under edge of the groove (see Figure 3).
    note:

    If the front cradle stopper becomes a hindrance to attaching the linear scale tape, remove it.

Finalization

  1. Re-install the cradle.
  2. Power up the Table from the Service Switch Panel.
  3. Verify that the cradle IN/OUT function is operating normally.
  4. Turn off all 3 switches (Axial Drive, HVDC, 120VAC), and re-install the Table covers.
