GDAS 48V Power Supply Checks

Prerequisites

Overview

The system rotating side 48V power supply does not require adjustment. The power supply can be checked for ripple and voltage level.

Procedure

  1. Ensure Axial drive is disabled via the service switch panel prior to checking the power supply.
    note:

The power supply on this system does not require any adjustment. The power supply levels and ripple can be checked to confirm basic operation. The power supply and fuse board is located near the low channel end of DAS.

    • warning
    • Potential for Shock.
    • Voltage is present.
    • Do NOT measure the 48 volts at the power supply output terminals. The output is 48V at up to 90Amps and a slip of the meter lead could RESULT IN PERSONAL INJURY AND/OR COMPONENT DAMAGE.
  2. The test points are located on the DAS backplane boards (both low channel and high channel backplane board). Use below test points to check the power supply level and ripple. If power supply does not meet these specifications a replacement will be required.
