Cradle Slip Direction Test
Prerequisites
Overview
Procedure Effectivity:
Procedure
- Load the cradle with at least 150 lbf, so that the rollers do not slip on the bottom of the cradle.
- Remove the cradle drive cover, so the slip-clutch can be viewed from the left side of the table.
- Use the control panel (or TCB) to drive the cradle into the gantry. From the back of the gantry, reach through the bore and push on the cradle as it's moving toward the gantry. The cradle should stop moving with about 40 lbf of force applied horizontally. You should be able to see the slip-clutch slipping: the end of the clutch (NUT, SPRING, PLATE and HUB) will be rotating, while the GEAR remains stationary and locked in place with the gear rack attached to the solenoid.
- Use the control panel (or TCB) to drive the cradle out of the gantry. From the other end of the table, push on the cradle as it is moving out of the gantry. The cradle should keep moving even when very high forces are applied, possibly causing the rollers to slip on the bottom of the cradle. You should NOT see any slipping at the slip-clutch.
Finalization
- Perform Cradle Clutch Adjustment.
