Cradle Drive Assembly Replacement

Prerequisites

Overview

note: If the Table cradle is slipping, before performing a cradle replacement inspect the following items.

1. Ensure the underside of the table is clean.

2. Check the cradle is riding flat on the rollers.

Procedure Effectivity:

Procedure

  1. Raise the table to maximum height.
  2. Remove right Gantry Side Cover.
    • warning
    • Potential for Shock.
    • Voltage may be present.
    • Use proper lockout/tagout procedures before replacing components.

    • Always turn OFF the HVDC before the 120 VAC. Turning OFF 120 VAC power before HVDC power can result in equipment damage.
  3. Remove power from table by turning off 120VAC, Axial Drive and HVDC switches on Service Switch Panel.
  4. Remove the right Table Side Rail Cover.
  5. Latch the carriage and remove the Cradle Assembly, using the 3/16” hex key.
  6. Remove the two screws from the Cradle Encoder Cover, using the 4mm hex key.
  7. Remove the Ground Screw in the Grounding Cable from the table chassis, using the 3mm hex key.
  8. Remove the 9-pin connector (only 2 wires in it) from the right side of the Assembly.
  9. Disconnect the two cables running from the motor, on the right outside part of the table.
  10. Remove any tie-wraps that may still be binding the Cradle Drive Assembly to the Table.
  11. Remove the old Cradle Drive Assembly from the Table.
  12. Insert the new Cradle Drive Assembly into the Table.
  13. Reconnect the two cables from the motor, the grounding cable to the Table Chassis and the 9-pin connector.
  14. Secure any loose cables with tie-wraps.
  15. Reinstall the Encoder Cable Shield, the Cradle Assembly and the Table Side Rail Covers.

Finalization

  1. Power up the Table from the Service Switch Panel.
  2. Using the service switches on the MTCB, move the Table up and down, and the Cradle in and out.
  3. Use the gantry control keys to move the Table up and down, and the Cradle in and out.

    When the Table functions properly, reinstall the Table Base Covers, the Side Panels and the Gantry Side Cover.

  4. Perform Cradle Clutch Adjustment.
