CTPM-1432 (Clean Tube Heat Exchanger)

This procedure will help maintain the cooling capacity of the Tube Heat Exchanger.

Procedure

  1. Move table to the lowest elevation.
  2. Bring system software down (from the console).
  3. Tag and Lock the system A1 disconnect power.
    • warning
    • Potential for Shock.
    • Voltage may be present.
    • Use proper lockout/tagout procedures before servicing components.
  4. Remove the Gantry side covers.
  5. Lift off the top cover.
  6. Remove the "scan" window.
  7. Remove the front cover.
  8. Rotate the Gantry until the Tube Heat Exchanger assembly is within serviceable reach.
  9. Engage the Gantry Rotation Lock.

    • POTENTIAL FOR EQUIPMENT DAMAGE. USING VACUUM HOSE NEAR LIVE ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT MAY CAUSE EQUIPMENT DAMAGE DUE TO STATIC. MAKE SURE EQUIPMENT IS TURNED OFF PRIOR TO VACUUMING NEAR ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT.
  11. Remove and clean the filters (four screws on top of Tube Heat Exchanger assembly).
  12. Inspect the radiator and clean, if necessary.
  13. Inspect fans, remove shroud, and clean, if necessary.
  14. When re-installing the filter, make sure the lower edge of the filter engages the tabs on the heat exchanger frame.
  15. Reassemble Heat Exchanger filters, fan shroud, Gantry covers, and scan window.
  16. Restore the power.
